Hamas: Relations with Egypt stable

GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri has said that his movement’s relations with Egypt were “stable” and that contacts were underway with Cairo to ensure safety and stability of those ties.
Quds Press quoted Abu Zuhri as saying on Monday that Hamas was very much concerned with strengthening relations with Cairo and maintaining contacts with it. He explained that meetings are held every now and then with Egyptian officials to ensure safety of those ties.
Shifting to another issue, the spokesman regretted the fact that the reconciliation process was stalemated, adding that what was agreed upon in Ramadan’s meeting between Hamas and Fatah over the issues of detainees, passports, and institutions was not implemented.
Abu Zuhri said that Fatah was not concerned with progressing reconciliation at present, adding that Fatah was preoccupied at present with the issue of the UN and attaining an international recognition of a Palestinian state.
